Meet the founder
Hi! I'm Amelie, born in Quebec City, Canada. I'm an avid traveler, lover of life, and global citizen. I believe every decision impacts the world, and I'm a big proponent for mindful consumption and responsible choices.
I started my career in the jewelry world "by accident", but quickly realized it was where I wanted to make a difference. With passion for design and a thirst for knowledge, I learned the trade through hands-on experience, mentorship, and education. After graduating from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) as an Applied Jewelry Professional, I completed the GIA Diamonds and Diamond Grading program in Carlsbad, CA.
Working in traditional jewelry stores, I felt uneasy about the socially opaque and environmentally questionnable practices of diamond mining. Determined to find more sustainable ways to enjoy diamonds and jewelry, I researched and developed a keen interest for diamond-growing technologies, and other alternatives to mined diamonds. Inspired, full of ideas and a good dose of faith, I moved to Austin, Texas, in 2016, where founded Identity Diamonds.
At Identity Diamonds, we believe traditions can be simultaneously honored and improved, luxury can be opulent and sustainable, and diamonds can be sourced without harm or conflict. Our mission is to create a jewelry shopping experience that aligns with those values, and make a lasting difference, one diamond at a time.
