General

Yes! Almost all of our rings can be customized to accommodate a different size or shape of center stone, and we can adjust, add, or remove design elements from almost all our rings.

Yes! We absolutely do, and we love designing from scratch. 💃

We cannot melt and reuse old jewelry to make your piece, as this process require refining the gold, and our shop doesn’t do metal refining.

However, we do purchase old gold for scrap value, so if you have old jewelry that you’d like to sell, we are happy to look at it and offer you a credit towards your piece.

Yes!

There are two types of engraving:

1- Surface engraving: this type of engraving is sometimes called "scratch engraving". As its name implies, it's done on the surface of the metal. It's subtle and can fade slightly over time. It can be done on any piece that at least 2mm wide, and is limited in font style and number of characters. Surface engraving starts at $45.

2- Laser engraving: this type of engraving utilizes laser technology to inscribe a very clear inscription on the piece of jewelry, that will never fade or disappear. Engrave names, dates, messages, or drawings to make any piece one of a kind! Handwritten messages and drawings can be scanned and emailed to us for laser engraving. Laser engraving is only available at the moment of purchase, and is complimentary! It is possible to laser engrave on the inside and outside of all classic wedding bands and most plain metal bands as well as the inside of most rings with a smooth shank that is bigger than 2mm wide.

Engraved items are made to order just for you and are not returnable.

It depends.

We are all for reusing as a sustainable practice! As such, we will happily consider your family/heirloom stones for resetting. However, conditions apply and it will be decided on a case to case basis. Contact us to discuss it in more details.

We do not sell our rings without a center stone and we do not set center stones purchased elsewhere in our jewelry.

All website pictures are of our actual stock. (Occasionally, we will also use computer generated renderings (you'll be able to tell), when actual photos are not yet available for a product.)

If you order a natural gemstone ring (such as a Montana sapphire ring), the color of the gem may vary, as no two are ever alike. We try to find gems alike whenever possible, but all natural gems are unique and will vary.

If you order a lab grown gemstone, diamond, or moissanite ring, your stone will look very close to identical to the one pictured, as there is very little to no variation in those gems. 

Absolutely! If you love one of our ring styles, and would prefer it set with a different color/size/shape/type of gem, we will gladly help you find the right stone.

As per our core mission, we focus solely on stones that are sustainable and ethically sourced: either lab-created gems, or gems that are fully traceable, eco-friendly and fairly mined.

Sizing

Alternative metals such as titanium, zirconium, and damascus steel cannot be resized. In the case of an alternative metal band purchased with us, one size exchange is included.

Warranty & Repairs

Visit our Inspection page to find out how to get your jewelry inspected.

If you need a repair that falls outside the scope of your warranty, or if you've let your warranty elapse (by not following your inspection schedule), a fee may apply to repair your jewelry. Following the inspection, we will contact you with a repair quote, and we will only proceed once we receive your approval.

We do not offer repair work on jewelry that was not purchased from Identity Diamonds.

Insurance

Your warranty does not cover loss, theft, or loss of your center stone. We highly recommend you insure your jewelry to be covered in the case of an unfortunate event. If you need help with contracting insurance for your jewelry, contact us. We do not sell insurance, but we will be happy to guide you!

Yes!

For items over $5,000, a jewelry appraisal (for insurance purposes) is available upon request, within 3 months of purchase. Simply contact us!
